Type design is a growing field these days, from beautiful labels for beer and coffee to custom typography, type designers have a lot to work with. In this post we feature some of the top type designers from around the world. Some are amazing new type designers, others have been around for a while.


They are the creators of beautiful logos, awesome labels, and creative typographic layouts. Some have been featured in typography magazines, major news publications, & adobe forums across the world. 1. Sean McCabe

Sean McCabe (aka Sean Wes) is an extraordinary type designer. He designs amazing logos, brilliant typography layouts, and has some stunning products in his store. Aside from designing type he spends his time dribbbling fun projects, tweeting, & reaching the front page on reddit!

 2. Jordan Metcalf

Jordan Metcalf is a type designer from the lovely city of Cape Town, South Africa. He designs beautiful typographic pieces for Adobe, Mens Health Magazine, & a long list of other clients. Aside from designing type and logos, he also works on cool projects for his dribbble account and he tweets. Check out his site as well.

 3. Nick Slater

Nick Slater the extraordinaire! Whether it be typography or illustration, Nick is a talented designer at that. He creates beautiful typographic pieces, some of which are featured on helpink, a great site to help artists raise money for a good cause. 4. Claire Coullon

Claire Coullon is an independent designer from the Czech Republic. She designs beautiful typography, hand lettering, and logos. She also dabbles in branding and print/book design. You can connect with her on twitter, dribbble, and her site.

5. Michael Spitz

Michael Spitz is an independent designer from the United States; however, he lives in the beautiful country of Croatia! He specializes in identity, brand development, lettering, & custom typography. His work has a certain flair to it, being that most is in black & white. He uses subtle details to make his designs all the more beautiful. 6. Dana Tanamachi

Dana Tanamachi is by far one of the most unique and talented type designers. She uses chalk in a lot of her work which not only makes it unique, but makes it all the more challenging. From designing the cover of Oprah’s Magazine to making things for Adidas, Dana is a very busy designer. 7.  Sergey Shapiro

Sergey is a passionate independent designer from Moscow, Russia! He enjoys typography, calligraphy, & custom lettering. His work is beautiful and nostalgic. 9. Brandon Rike

Brandon Rike is an incredible graphic designer who creates lovely typography, hand lettering, & t-shirt designs. Here’s the catch, he does most of this awesome work for famous rockers and pop stars!
